Terms of Use
This site is run by Scientologists who wanted somewhere to explain, in plain language, what the religion actually involves. It sells nothing and asks nothing of you. Reading it is the whole transaction — but here is the small print, since a few things are worth being clear about.

Who runs this site
This site is written and run by Scientologists — people who practise the religion and wanted to share what it is actually like, in ordinary language, with anyone curious enough to ask. Most writing about Scientology is written from the outside. This is the view from inside it.
That is a point of view, and we would rather say so plainly than pretend to a neutrality nobody really has. Everything here is sourced, and the sources are named, so you can always check where something came from and make up your own mind.
Independent of the Church
Being run by Scientologists is not the same as being run by the Church. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Church of Scientology or any related organisation. Nobody at the Church commissioned it, reviews it, or approves what it says, and nothing here is an official statement of the Church's position. For that, go to the Church's own publications, which the articles cite.
“Scientology,” “Dianetics,” and related names and symbols are trademarks and service marks owned by their respective owners. They are used here only to refer to the subject being described, which is ordinary descriptive use, and no claim of ownership or affiliation is made or implied.
The voice you are reading
Articles are written in a single voice — a composite practising-member perspective, drawn from published member accounts and Church materials rather than from one named person. When you read “I” here, it stands for that shared experience, not for one individual telling their own story.
Every article says so, near the top. We would rather you know exactly what you are reading than wonder about it later — and if we ever publish someone's own account under their name, it will be obvious that is what it is.
Information, not advice
Everything here is general information. It is not religious, spiritual, medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice, and nothing on this site describes any practice as treatment for an illness or as a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
Decisions about joining, taking part in, paying for, or leaving any religion are yours to make, and they deserve more than one website — including talking to people directly.
Accuracy, sourcing, and corrections
Articles cite identifiable sources, carry a last-updated date, and say so plainly where sources disagree. Even so, subjects change: costs, leadership, availability, and public statements all move, and a page accurate when written can drift out of date.
The site is offered in good faith, but without any guarantee of completeness or of being current. If we have got something wrong, please tell us through the contact route below. Corrections are genuinely welcome, and they get made.
Content and images
The written articles on this site are its own work. You are welcome to quote a reasonable extract with attribution and a link; republishing whole articles is not permitted.
Photographs, logos, trademarks, and other materials that originate elsewhere remain the property of their owners and are used to illustrate the subject under discussion. Any rights holder who believes their material is used improperly should get in touch and it will be reviewed promptly.
Links to other sites
Articles link to sources, including official Church publications and third-party pages. A link is a citation, not an endorsement, and this site has no control over and takes no responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of anywhere it links to.
Using this site
Read it, quote it fairly, and share it with anyone who is wondering — that is what it is for. Please do not use it to harass anyone, to misrepresent what it says, to present its composite voice as a real named individual, or to scrape and republish it wholesale.
No warranty and limits on liability
This site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, the site and those who produce it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it or reliance on it.
Some jurisdictions do not allow those exclusions, in which case they may not apply.
Changes to these terms
These terms will change as the site does, and the “last updated” date above moves when they do. Continuing to use the site means the current version applies. Whenever you want to get back to the actual reading, start from the overview.
